One of my food hats is culinary producer, making food television. It’s great fun to hear stories about food and the people that make it. Today I am looking for Harlem foodies and home cooks embroiled in a family food battle.

Yes, food mostly brings us together, but it can also tear us apart. Is there a debate over what goes into grandma’s gumbo or with what great grandpop seasons his pork ribs? Perhaps feuding cousins swear they each hold the official version of a recipe passed down through generations. This is the time to settle the score with professional culinary food sleuths to moderate and help bring relatives back together. Perhaps there will be no resolution, but at least let the story be told.

Please email me at with your story or the story of someone you know. I am looking forward to hear it. Thank you!
